Supervision / Consultation
Dr Barton has extensive experience supervising other health professionals; psychologists, nurses, occupational therapists, social workers and more. She is registered with the British Psychological Society’s Register of Applied Psychology Practice Supervisors (RAPPS).
The supervisory relationship is unique, it provides an opportunity to stretch immediate clinical thinking and to aquire new theoretical knowledge within the safe environment of a solid supervisory relationship. Supervisory contracts are established at the beginning of each relationship and reviewed at a minimum of yearly, this enables a constant monitoring of the work to ensure that it meets the high standards expected.
Training
Dr Barton has experience delivering training in a variety of mental health issues. Past training includes understanding the psychological impact of traumatic experiences, workshops to help professionals assess and intervene to alleviate risk, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy with adults and older adults and personality disorder.
